Attaching Files to Email Messages
NOTE: These instructions are intended only for student use
at Columbus State University. They are not likely to work on other
systems.
Attaching Files to Email Messages from the DOS LAN menu:
- From the DOS menu, select option 8, "Pegasus Mail v3.40"
- Type "S", or select "Send a mail message" from the menu
- Fill in the email address and subject lines of the message
- Type in a line of text explaining what it is you're sending
- To attach a file, press the [F7] key, then:
- Press the [INSERT] key
- Enter the file name, e.g. a:\proj1.mws or
a:\maple\proj1.mws, depending upon where
you actually saved the file
- Set the File Type to "text"
- Set the Encoding to "ASCII text"
- Press [ENTER] and accept the message -- the file name should
then appear in a list of attachments
- Press [CONTROL]+[ENTER] to return to email
- Press [CONTROL]+[ENTER] to send the message
