Proposed Mathematics Department Teaching Load Policy
The normal teaching load for tenured and tenure track faculty is
12 credit hours per semester. However, some faculty members will be asked
to teach 13-hour loads to include Math 1131, Math 1132, or Math 2135, each of
which carries 4 semester hours of credit instead of the usual 3 semester hours.
Faculty who have accrued 3 or more excess hours in this manner will be
considered for a teaching load reduction.
Each semester, the faculty member who has accrued the most
excess hours will teach three courses instead of four. In the case of a
tie, the department chair will select one person for the course release.
